The Maryland Department of Human Resources is the State's human services agency. The department provides many programs to Maryland's citizens. Programs may be ongoing, temporary or short-term. All services are delivered through local departments of social services in Baltimore City and the state's 23 counties, by other public agencies and by more than 200 private, non-profit community-based organizations.
